Artist Statement

2019 was a year I dedicated to scrap busting and cleaning project boxes of the remaining fabric from finished quilts. This quilt was inspired by a picture on Pinterest. I designed this quilt to work with my 2 1/2"scraps. It was my first scrap buster, and completed in the month of January.

Artist Statement

Every year I make a quilt that is donated to Quilts of Valour, and I try to always use Canadian fabric. The pineapple blocks were started at my mini retreat with my friend Liana. The neutral fabric was a little to busy for my liking, but turned the blocks into a scrappy feel. Using an old panel from the Northcott line a couple years ago made this quilt come together pretty quickly.

This quilt was a class I took at Spool Workshop in Leduc, Rapid Fire Hunter Star by instructor Gail Robertson of Erie Quilt Art. The fabric was a treasure from my stash, and I love how the black pops the bright colours. The ruler makes all the blocks exactly the same and so easy to put together.
